The Midnight Crawler: A Puri Horror Encounter Rooted in Indian Folklore

I came to visit my uncle's house when I was studying in Christ College, Cuttack. He and I were the best buddies when it comes to travel and food, and had the various food delicacies from the land of Cuttack to Puri to explore. One night I was staying at a place in Puri, and the place had a top floor with windows opening to tall mango laden trees and guava trees. I used to sleep their at night with the windows open to fight the heat. One night, I was late from college and had gone to a friend's place, my uncle was all alone but he was fast asleep. I went upstairs to the bedroom and the rooms were quite dark, I was tired so I didn't bother to switch on the light, just washed myself up in the bathroom and threw myself on the bed. There was a strange feeling as someone was trying to push me from my own bed. I was freaked out as to who would it be. I could almost feel four hands, as I stood up to switch on the lights, a human like figure in the dark crawled on it's four hands outside my window. I wasn't able to sleep all night thinking whether it was a thief who had come to steal something or attack me in the middle of the night or a supernatural element. In the morning when I spoke to my uncle about it, he mentioned that a monkey used to come every night to that room and sleep in the bed and had gotten used to it, he had started to close the windows for that reason.

Why did you write "2minhorrorstories"?   As an afternoon ritual back in my childhood days, my grandmother used to always narrate us stories about ghosts, witches, and unexplained incidents from her childhood, youth, to her middle age.    Those stories, enabled me to enter into a realm of a parallel dimension, that had some power beyond realism. It created a sense of fear, but at the same time the thrill lingered around for days, turning me into an adventurous soul that pushed my intentions beyond being scared and thus overpowering my inner ...

Eyes (In Odia Aakhi), A Short Story from "Bhoota Gappa"

A Savage Village

Our adventure trip, a group of friends and I, began in a vehicle unlike any other – mine. This marvel of engineering could be both pulled and pushed, adapting to the demands of the terrain. It resembled a monstrous GMC Hummer EV Edition, boasting a staggering 1000 horsepower and a mind-boggling 11,500 lb-ft of torque. Our destination: a remote, ancient village nestled on the fringes of the Bengal border. The journey was a nightmare from the outset. The roads, mere tracks through shifting sand dunes, twisted and turned like a labyrinth as we penetrated the village. The inhabitants, diminutive and unsettling with their pointed teeth, watched our arrival with palpable hostility. Then, disaster struck. One of them, with a chilling ferocity, bit our beloved dog, Toby, inflicting a gruesome wound. Panic seized us. Dr. Dev Kumar, the village veterinarian, resided in a dilapidated cottage at the maze's end. We had to reach him. As we pressed on, the sky turned an omino...
