The Bhoota Gappa Journey

5 Things You Don't Know About The Author Of "Bhoota Gappa" : Soft Launch Of "Bhoota Gappa" Website

 1. I have never encountered horror in a face-to-face manner, but have always felt someone, something unexplained, lingering in the dark.

2. I used to go to spend my summer vacations every year to Kandarpur, Cuttack, my ajja's(mother's father) place and Buxibazaar, Cuttack, my jejebaapa's(father's father) place.

3. I don't like to watch horror so much, but I love to read horror more.

4. I lost my father in a traumatic accident in the year 2024, the last thing he told me, was to release "Bhoota Gappa".

5. I am a science student, and I believe science can be tampered to make reality suffer.

In August 2024, Bhoota Gappa began quietly.

There was no grand announcement.
No marketing machinery.
No promise of scale.

Only a belief that folklore still breathes, that fear still travels through generations, and that stories whispered in childhood deserve to be written before they disappear.

Today, with the soft launch of BhootaGappa.com, that belief has taken form.

Five books now stand as milestones of this journey. Each one carries not just stories, but fragments of lived memories, inherited myths, and the echoes of over 10,000 horror experiences shared across regions, cultures, and communities.

What started as a single idea rooted in Odisha’s folklore has grown into something far larger than I imagined. Today, more than 5 million people are familiar with the name Bhoota Gappa. The books have climbed to #1 in Odisha Horror Books, but rankings alone do not define this journey.

What truly matters is that Bhoota Gappa has become a space where folklore is preserved, where fear is explored, and where readers rediscover the thrill of stories that feel both ancient and immediate.

This website marks the next phase.

BhootaGappa.com is not just a place to buy books. It is the doorway to a growing horror universe — one that will bring immersive experiences, deeper folklore explorations, research logs, reader contributions, and storytelling formats that extend beyond the page.

Because horror, when rooted in culture, is never just entertainment.

It is a part of your memory.
It is a warning.

It is a piece of your identity.

As I continue to build and expand this world, bringing more unsettling and immersive experiences to your doorstep, remember one simple thing.

When the lights go off, and silence grows heavier than usual…
you know where to go.

Welcome to Bhoota Gappa!

Interview With The Author Of Bhoota Gappa & 2minhorrorstories

An interview with the author of JustUtter's first ever released horror book series named "Bhoota Gappa". This interview will not only let readers know more about, the origin and inspiration of these horror stories but also the challenges of fear and ruthlessness of the inner soul that unravels the story of the main character "Azagka".  Available Now in both paperback and hardcover Watch The Trailer Now!! Why did you write "2minhorrorstories"?   As an afternoon ritual back in my childhood days, my grandmother used to always narrate us stories about ghosts, witches, and unexplained incidents from her childhood, youth, to her middle age.    Those stories, enabled me to enter into a realm of a parallel dimension, that had some power beyond realism. It created a sense of fear, but at the same time the thrill lingered around for days, turning me into an adventurous soul that pushed my intentions beyond being scared and thus overpowering my inner ...

A Savage Village

Our adventure trip, a group of friends and I, began in a vehicle unlike any other – mine. This marvel of engineering could be both pulled and pushed, adapting to the demands of the terrain. It resembled a monstrous GMC Hummer EV Edition, boasting a staggering 1000 horsepower and a mind-boggling 11,500 lb-ft of torque. Our destination: a remote, ancient village nestled on the fringes of the Bengal border. The journey was a nightmare from the outset. The roads, mere tracks through shifting sand dunes, twisted and turned like a labyrinth as we penetrated the village. The inhabitants, diminutive and unsettling with their pointed teeth, watched our arrival with palpable hostility. Then, disaster struck. One of them, with a chilling ferocity, bit our beloved dog, Toby, inflicting a gruesome wound. Panic seized us. Dr. Dev Kumar, the village veterinarian, resided in a dilapidated cottage at the maze's end. We had to reach him. As we pressed on, the sky turned an omino...

Share Your "Bhoota Gappa" (Paranormal Experience)

In Odisha, and I believe maximum villages or rural cities in India, in the 90s era, when power outages used to be a usual norm. Anytime there was a storm, or a rainy day, in the evenings, the houses had no light, just a candle or an oil lamp amidst a group of family members with kids trying to mimic studying, while they are all distracted by all the insects flying to and fro the candle light. They start asking a question or a two to the elders, after which, storytime is officially triggered. The eldest of the house, starts telling a story of when they were a kid, and were accompanied by a friend or traveling by themselves. The story genre usually was horror, as kids used to be excited as well as curious of things that still remain unexplained. That's when "Bhoota Gappa", or a "Ghost Story", came into existence, where people shared their experiences, in which they encountered something or someone that they couldn't explain but somewhere in their minds it st...
